These, marginally connected, episodes are meant to be backstory to the commercially successful Bubblegum Crisis OVA series (and now TV?). They are definitely aimed at the dark future, cyberpunk crowd and go out of their way to aim for an R rating. There is lots of blood (a lot of it from the seemingly suicidal cops), death and sex...even in places where it adds little to the story. The essence in each video is on the difficulty of being a creature half-way between human and machine, so the focus is definitely on the `monsters'. At the end of the day it tries too hard, and is not helped by the writing or animation, and ends up feeling a bit flat.
THEM are not overly impressed, but give it three stars in this Review.
