Two series in one! We start with a weird bunch of female police special operatives (Team Warrior, thus the W) and one useless pervy male driver. The archetypes are extreme, and even the technical members show a great tendency towards skimpy clothing. There is quite a lot of sexually suggestive humor and fan-service as well as anime in-jokes (including a giant purple robot that immediately goes beserk) which skirt the edge of bad taste but manage to be entertaining. The problem is that the plot goes into high gear in the last two tapes and immediately turns very violent and dark, before a partial conclusion to the story. The almost complete change in atmosphere simply didn't work for me, feeling rushed, artificial, and desperate.

THEM mention the fan service and low-brow humor in this Review and are more forgiving of the change-over. Also an unimpressed Review from Animejin. Lord Carnage has an average review, but gives the vital information that episode 1-2 bombed in Japan and 3-4 were made specifically for the Western market...I'm so embarassed.
