A sequel to the original compiler OAV? I was very tempted to simply label it as the third OAV episode, because not much has changed. Assembler is a door mat, Toshi is so indecisive as to make Tenchi weep and Compiler and Nachi are both completely irrational. all of them are remarkably difficult to empathise with and the background and computer names are purely cosmetic. This episode purports to be about the forced return of the various characters, but this is disrupted by an attacker from the digital dimension. However since programs apparently fight through super-powered fistfights the feel is like any other `super powered babe-fest' and tires quickly. There are moments when it rises above the mundane, but the lackluster writing (Kia Asamiya again?) quickly dispels that. The animation is reasonable, as is the action, but neither are that impressive. I found this an irritating, empty and eminently forgettable experience.
