Title Info
To me this movie seemed almost like the diary of a conflict between the creator and his creation, and it is a shame that the creation lost. The essential plot and characters are strong, with a young girl discovering a heritage of magical powers and demon-hunting and being less than enthusiastic about the whole thing. The problem comes from poor writing, weak continuity between episodes (episode 4 is actually just music video's) and the directors ambition to make a pervy title (almost entirely in the first tape) and finally distinctly average animation. There is the core of a good story here, but ultimately the series is too flawed to deliver on its potential. There is an english dub (which I saw on OAV 1) which is pretty bad. Akemi's AnimeWorld has a review where they note that the series is fun, but limited and class it as "dumb fun". |
