Energetic, humourous and good fun ... but I really thought I'd missed a lot of story because the cast is immense (even some grumblings from cast members about low screen time or no lines). A quick browse indicated that the source for this anime was a popular computer game (and a sequel) which helps explain the sizable number of characters. The story follows Yuna who apart from being a high school girl is also the `defender of the light' and has saved the galaxy at least twice (the two games perhaps?). The nice point is that Yuna can't help but be the `defender of light' because it is simply innate in her character that she is friendly and see's the good side of everyone. Of course this doesn't help her when subterfuge is used against her, although her many friends and allies are perhaps not as innately trusting (and are sufficiently powerful to make an issue with the originator). Bonus points for her companion a super strong robot (so the web sites say) with an impressive appetite, always good to see a school girl who enjoys her lunches. The energy level is high, the complexity low and the animation as cheerful as the lead character. The only problem is that the short length is woefully insufficient to even begin exploring the interesting characters we get glimpses of. These episodes are titled "Sorrowful Saline" in the Western release, but one of the web-sites states that "Siren of Sorrow" is a more accurate translation.
