Title Info
What a promising start for a new OAV series, it's just a shame that it is only a start. Feeling very much like the pilot for a new series, while still telling a complete story, this OAV feels somewhat rushed but still has something to offer. The plot revolves around what happens when the world of fey, sealed off from the horror of humanity, returns to the world. This centers around the half-human Maron the playful and powerful guardian of the gate who thinks she's found a human capable of compassion. Needless to say there is a potential girl friend confused by this new arrival, and a powerful opponent who wants to destroy phantasia and the first signs of a strong romantic plot. Good animation, nice action and interesting characters...but it's all over just as you are getting into it. Bonus points for giving a tour of the artwork at the end, but including all the storyboards feels a lot like padding. THEM give it a scathing review, perhaps they bought it? Much of what they say is true, it depends (I think) on how much you expect from a single episode. I certainly would not buy this tape myself. In search of defense for my not minding it I found another review at the Anime Review page which says it is short, familiar and not a good purchase, but "has enough laughs and goodheartedness to suffice". |
