Abstract:   A very frequently japanese insult. If you listen to much sub anime you will come to know it. It translates as fool or idiot. It's often used by fans as a result of being so well known

This japanese word, meaning `fool' or `idiot', is common in anime (sometimes very common) so the word has also been borrowed by the wider anime community. Apparently the japanese language has few dedicated insults, with offense being indicated by using `impolite' speech forms. This word is often combined with a sense of exasperation with the person being addressed. The form `name' no baka is also heard, with Ranma being perhaps the prime exponent (well, target) and often combined with a subtle malleting.
