This is another name for a visual symbol in anime, although I don't know if there are better names for it. In any case a character who is romantically affected by the current events might be shown with a slight blush along the top of the cheek. This happens to both males and females although it is most common with females. This symbol is useful because it allows a character to deny any romantic interest while being betrayed by a visual symbol. In extreme cases the characters whole face could go a violent red, although this is generally for humourous effect. See `Nose-Bleed' for a (Somewhat) related symbol.
