Abstract:   The high drama version of shounen-ai?
A small sub-genre of shoujo? I've never seen anything to get a feel for it,
but this definition was given, by L. Spangler, on usenet.
June ("joo-neh") is a bit like shounen ai, but it's centered more on
long drawn out dramatic stories, with an intense focus on emotion, which
often end in tragedy. The name comes from the first comic magazine to
exclusively feature boy/boy love stories directed at girls. The magazine
was called "June" (first published in 1978) and today the term has come
to refer to the style of story that appears in it (it's still running).
It is kind of a small sub-genre though.
