 		    Abstract:   Material which places famous characters in a homesexual relationship

Slash is the term for a fan parody that has explicit homosexual encounters between well known male figures. As such it could probably be seen as a sub-genre within yaoi. `Sarah' on alt.anime.shoujo offered the following.
My best attempt at a definition for slash: Recreation of established heterosexual characters to fit an idealized or romanticised homosexual mold. That definition may sound a little harsh, but I can't think of a better way to put it. I mean, there's slash featuring Captain Kirk and Spock, for god's sake! That's just... wrong.
