I believe this short OAV is often mentioned for having Mr. Shirow somewhere on the credits, although in a very minor role. This OAV, set in a variable tech world (you guessed, the bad guys have the tech) with a magical heritage concerns the possible rebirth of the god of wind. The high tech society, complete with floating city, aren't going to stand by and determine to interfere with this possibility, which they can do since those who might play a role in the rebirth bear special marks. There are some nice plot twists, some capable characters but the short running time and focus on action and effects means the story is sometimes confusing and the characters relatively shallow. The animation is competent, some of the design is quite good and the action scenes have their moments. Not a classic by any means, but a reasonable watch. Bonus points for actually showing what became of some of the characters after the climax.
