More fun with the Lupin gang, with an emphasis on action in this installment. For the newcomer, Lupin is a modern day thief, with a noble heart but a strong streak of mischief. The Lupin series of movies are produced independantly (With varied success) but share the same characters. In this piece of action you'll quickly start to wonder why Samurai families don't simply convert ancient treasures into cash, I guess it's to keep the ancient enemy Ninja clan employed. Anyway, Goemon's wedding leads him right into the middle of it, which means the rest of the gang is not far behind. Indeed this one is interesting in that the rest of the team, especially Fujiko and Goemon (and almost Zenigata) have a presence equal to or greater than that of Lupin himself, with his main contribution being cleverness and some seriously implausible gadgets. A lot of the action takes place inside an immense cavern series, so there are some impressive action and fighting sequences. The animation is reasonable, but not up to the normal standard for a movie. The characterisation is good, but the plot and story are suprisingly simple. In short this is a fun film, it cannot match the Castle of Cagliostro but that isn't very fair competition.

THEM have a very positive review, which makes sense if they saw it after the horrible "Gold of Babylon" Lupin movie. The review is short, and their mention of nudity is probably unneccesary since it is very minor.
