This video is highly regarded by many anime connoseurs, but I have to dissent, because I think it is a lightweight piece of self indulgent fluff. If you find sufficient in-jokes to make this video `great' perhaps you should take that as a warning. There are two parts to this tape, with interleaved live action interview's with anonomized otaku's (anime nerds) are asked some questions, none of which are particularly deep or interesting. In addition I believe these are `fake' interviews. The other part is the animated story of super-otaku letting their passion bring them (fairly immediate) fame and fortune. Taken together they add up to nothing in particular. The only scene I liked was the hero's induction into Otaku-dom, and the Otaku archetypes he meets, but that 5 minutes is not enough. Reasaonable animation, erratic and unbelievable story and limited re-watchability make this an interesting experience but not something to own.
