I believe this is the second OAV series, but it almost works best as covering the origins of slayers. In this series we follow the very young (14 years old) beautiful genius sorcerous (self proclaimed) Lina Inverse who is powerful and worldly wise, through some of her early adventures. This includes her first meeting with the buxom, evil laugh master Nahga the Serpent who may be as powerful but definitely isn't any sort of wise. In addition we get to see the difficulty of earning money as a travelling sorceress in a world full of very weird people. Like the other OAV series the episodic nature strongly reduces the scope of the stories, the subtlety of the humor and the development of character but they are still fairly good fun in their own right. The animation is competent and sufficient but not exceptional for an OAV series.
