The various slayers TV series are great fun, and here's a longer dose of the same. The movies have a different, smaller, cast consisting of the energetic young sorceress Lina Inverse and the well endowed but loosely principled Naga who alternate between friendship and rivalry. This smaller cast makes sense, as this short movie does not allow the larger cast of the TV series to be adequately introduced or expressed. In this movie the two wander into a town famous for making golems, a power struggle between two rival lords and a family struggle between two master golem makers. There are no suprises as to where this leads but some nice character work and actions scenes make sure some fun is had along the way. The writing and animation are similar to the TV series, so this is probably better considered as a long TV episode rather than a true cinematic anime.
