I may be incorrect, but I believe that his OAV was produced seperately from the first 6 OAV episodes with a joining tape called, "The night of the festival". I also have to say that it didn't take long for the rot to set into the house of Tenchi. While this is still fun, still has the same high production quality and carries on the great cast from the original it begins to show signs of the material weakening. The writing is not as tight, clever or charming as the first 6 episodes. This combines with the fact that we are exploring the minor characters, and that the villain is a pale shadow compared to Kagato to make it seem as if the `heart' of the series has been removed. It just doesn't have the depth or coherency of the first 6 episodes. Even given this the material is still enjoyably watchable so it is worth giving it a chance, especially if you can view it without buying it.
