YUCK!!!This product is almost responsible for moving all other tenchi derivatives up a notch. It is just so ill-conceived, charmless and badly written that I wonder why they bothered. The plot, such as it is, concerns tenchi moving to Tokyo to study, although naturally the rest of the cast get involved. There is another potential love interest and lots of stupid `spirits' popping up to attack tenchi and friends. Of course nobody seems at all bothered, or even interested, in this profusion of magic in their vicinity probably because they can't take it seriously either. All the beloved tenchi characters have been re-written as incompetent buffoon's, the animation is quite ugly and the writing is poor and confusing. The concept of tenchi growing up, romancing a normal human girl and the rest of the cast finding their place on earth had potential, but it is wasted by this poor material. I actually got my hands on 8 episodes but couldn't be bothered to watch them all.
