The 5th UY movie and possibly intended to give a final resolution. Sadly it's a mixed bag in terms of quality and story as well as being sufficiently different from the normal UY `feel' as to be irritating to long term fans. The most obvious casualty is the UY humor, sure there are some very silly characters, but that simply seems ridiculous and the overall mood serious and somber. The plot concerns a new alien pair who initially come between Ataru and Lum, and put the earth in danger, but quickly find that they can't possibly cause as much emotional torment and collateral damage as Lum and Ataru by themselves. The conclusion, a reprise of the original `tag' game that started the series, is probably meant to shed light on the relationship of Lum and Ataru, but whether due to lack of courage or lack of writing skill little more is learnt. Those who don't know UY might enjoy it, but are more likely to wonder why they should care, while fans may find it unsatisfyingly different. The animation is reasonable, certainly showing a continuous technical improvement over the early movies, but is still in an older style and has occassional lapses, which are possibly meant to be humorous.
