Title Info
Aaah, my brain hurts. This is from the babes and bangs school of cheerful but mindless anime violence on the super-heroic scale. The plot, and I use the term loosely, seems to involve a group of attractive girls with power linked to playing card symbols. There is another group using playing tile symbols and a third group stomping all over the kingdom these girls guard using immense mecha shaped like chess pieces. The design is poor, dialog and character nearly non-existent and the plot beyond reasonable belief. On the other hand, for the easily amused, there is quite a lot of fast paced action with big-explosions, super-powers and an immense cast of weird participants. The animation is bright and clean but of a low detail, looking almost sketchy in places. Perhaps in time this could have been built into something worthwhile, but if this is taken as a complete work it is very lightweight indeed. It was Akemi who indicated that there are only two episodes and gave the weird english translation. There is also a long and detailed review which is probably longer than the entire script. Lord Carnage give it the same rating, but a verbal beating, calling it a "totally pointless show" in this review. The anime review has a solid review which laments, "If only explosions, cute women, and editing as blindingly fast as a new 1GHz processor could make for a good show", cool. |
